Why is “Tucker now talking to Florida?” Some call it a natural migration. We call it a smart move. With so many Hoosiers living in the Sunshine State, we decided to bring a piece of home to them.

The idea began in 2005, when lifetime Indiana resident Lawrence “Larry” M. Lunn and his wife, Belinda, decided to move to Florida and contacted F.C. Tucker Company to handle the sale of his real estate in Indiana. The Lunns then purchased a home in Treasure Island, Florida, through Harry Carter with Realty Nation USA.

As a former Tucker broker associate and real estate attorney, Larry has an inherent understanding of the real estate market in Indiana and Florida. So that same year, he began a dialog with Fred C. Tucker, III, of F.C. Tucker Company, about the tremendous potential for the Tucker name in the Florida market.

In late 2006, Tucker/Florida, LLC, was authorized to establish franchises in Florida, and Larry was chosen to serve as Director of Franchise Operations in Florida. In February 2007, Larry arranged to purchase all of the assets of and lease the real estate being occupied by Realty Nation USA for use by the first franchised operation of Tucker/Florida, LLC.

The first Florida franchise, F.C. Tucker/Gulf Beaches, began in April 2007, with many of the sales associates and broker associates of Realty Nation USA joining the Tucker team, including Harry Carter and his daughter, Annette Mensch.

But this is only the beginning of the story. Tucker is looking to “talk” to the rest of Florida, and there are plenty of opportunities to establish franchised operations throughout the Sunshine State.
